The current version is better for rushing the VPs. Reversing it would help with chasing/fleeing from opponents. I guess fleeing the Bejeweled Bastiches would be helpful to wizards and priests, and warriors use other skills. But are you really sure you want to encourage people to run elf wizards?
I'd prefer enemies to be affected first, mostly just to be consistent with Firestorm and Flash Of Agony
On a vaguely related note, if the wiki is still correct... the "Adventurers" starter pack uses an elf for the wizard... with Healthy Trickery, thus providing Vulnerable on the lowest-health character and the Elven Trickery card that only works when you end your turn in melee range.
This would be inconsistent with other cards that affect both enemies and allies, but the inconsistency could just be reflected in the card text to remedy that.
