In keeping with the tongue in cheek snark of Cardhunter campaign I suggest the following new expansion for Cardhunter: Premise: Melvin has been asked to betatest Cardstock online. But Melvin gives up, complaining that the computer Game Master, Cardotron, is too overpowered. Melvin turns over his account to Gary including his embarrassing password. Gary partners with you to try to prove Melvin wrong that Cardotron can indeed be beaten and Carstock online is ready for a roll out. Rationale: I think this all helps us to laugh about our fussing about balance changes and overpowered cards. I think it should be at a mid-level difficulty so that many can experience it. (I know that I still haven't been able to move forward on the level 18 attack of the artifacts, troll tyrant.) Gameplay: All sorts of mechanized minions, monsters, and tech sets. Cardhunter in the future-esque. Perhaps it's set in Silicon Valley, or Megasoft headquarters, or a suburban house. Perhaps the adventurers have to battle through IBM, Microsoft, Apple, and Google, ending up at a suburban house. Or alternatively sets could be Star Trek bridge, Star Wars Millenium falcon, and Firefly hull. "New" cards: Drop new items that use some of the more interesting cards that have not been allowed for use yet. Move: Mighty Charge, Positioning Move Armor: Just bones, Crude Plates, Amorphous Body Block: Perfect Block, Reflecting block, Reflect Missile, Feedback Blast, Eyes Everywhere Attack: sneaky bloodsuck, pickpocket, cowardly attack Drawback: Mad Dog. Revenue: charge pizza for the new expansion and high prices for the new items in the store. Put together a package with "new" costumes and a membership.
OK so AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHH!!!! ....Now that that's out of the way, the theme is a bit too canon. Not to mention , many of the cards you suggest are way too strong for use in MP. Not to mention, way too high-level to use in "mid-level" difficulty, and they would probably require level 24+ just to make decent items with them. Cards that could be released in the future: Crude Plates, Cowardly Attack, Burning Blade. You know, now that I think about it, if there were an expansion with higher-level adventures (say 21-30), a computer tech theme may be appropriate. I'm sorry, just feeling a bit more crazy today than normal. Boop.
