[Suggestion] Hide chars instead of deleting them

Reading the forums today I noticed a thread where three people said they accidentally deleted their chars. To protect people from this, what if the option was changed to "Hide Char", which would unequip all items and then hide the char from the roster. At the end of the roster would be a page named "{N} Chars Hidden"; when selected, that page would list all the hidden chars (name, race, class, level) with a button to Unhide (restore) each. Then you can clean up your roster without doing anything you might regret later.

 

What if you actually want to delete them?

 

What is the benefit of deleting a character instead of hiding it?

 

I like the idea of a small recycle bin .
