I know that this isn't likely to be on the table any time soon, with this being beta and all, but when you guys get the kinks worked out of the system, I thought it would be interesting if you created a streamlined set of campaign creation tools, and opened them up for community use. The current campaign, as it stands, is fun and interesting, but finite. For those of us who don't really want to play multiplayer, the game will eventually dry up. There's only so much new content you, as a developer, can put out on a regular basis, so why not open up that option to your own players? It's been shown time and time again that games with player-created content thrive for longer stretches of time without new content patches. As long as you set up a system where players could rate the campaigns once they've played them (so the best ones float to the top, rather than it being a jumbled mess of hit-and-miss), I think a lot of players would flock to the chance to create their own campaign.
This isn't exactly what you have in mind, but they ARE planning on having custom scenarios. In fact, it could come as soon as the next build. Some of this functionality is already in the game. If you open up the console (F1) and type "boardeditor" (without the quotes) you can create and save your own custom boards. The command "customscenario" will start a multiplayer game on the custom map you specify.
