This being a d&d inspired game, I'd like to someday see an alignment system. Basic premise being you choose your characters alignment out of, say, 3 to keep it simple. Good, neutral, evil. Cards could be made that affect different alignments differently. I'm just shooting off the top of my head here but here some examples of what I'm talking about :

priest/Detect Alignment : show enemy alignments
warrior/Fervant Strike : 10 attk , add 4 atk if the alignment is opposite of yours, subtract 4 atk if alignment is same as yours (neutral has no opposite so it would just be 10)
wiz/Dedicated Bolt : 6 atk 6 range, add 4 atk if alignment opp., subtract 4 if same
wiz/Circle of Spirit : aoe range 4, push 2 opp alignment(away from caster), push 2 same alignment(towards caster)

Obviously I'm fudging numbers here this isn't well thought out but gives an idea of how the mechanics could potentially work.
Potential problems with implementation I see right away would be pve, I assume most of the enemies in campaign are "evil" and coding any changes in this I really doubt would happen. Could be interesting in pvp though, esp. with more unique stuff to each side then the relatively bland examples I just came up with.

Either way, I realistically expect this never to come to fruition due to the amount of coding and such it would imply, I'm no programmer so I really have no idea. Maybe in an expansion or something one day. Anyways just thought I'd post while thinking about it.

From a programming perspective it could function like certain other Keywords. It would basically be labeling your character with a keyword, and if that keyword exists, do an effect. It would probably be as simple as adding a Property to the character code object. But that's assuming A LOT about what their code looks like.

The question I have is if the extra layer of complexity would make the game more interesting or fun. It would definitely add some interesting theme to the game, but would that make the game too complex? A lot of what's nice about Cardhunter is its relatively simple elegance.
