So I was looking at martial skills in the armory for my fighter and there was something... odd... that I noticed. The Bruiser trait card is supposed to affect any "bash" cards you play, but there doesn't appear to be any skills with that descriptor. Similarly, the Slicer trait card is supposed to affect any "chop" cards you play, and while there are indeed some Chop cards, the word is in the title of the cards, rather than the descriptors. I can only assume that those two trait cards are supposed to read "Crushing" and "Slashing," respectively. Can anybody confirm this? I don't want to blow any of my gold without knowing exactly what I'm buying.
The traits affect cards with the respective words "bash" or "chop" in the name of the card. Check out the wiki for a list of bash and chop cards.
This may be a bit of a tangent, but given the above confusion maybe not. Is it just me, or does it take longer to FIND your first Bash cards in the current game? I intended to have one Warrior focus on Bash cards, but then simply didn't find any for a long time. And in my case, even after I unlocked the Martial Skill slot, I didn't find any of those Bruiser cards for awhile either.
Ahhh well that'd make sense. The list only shows 4 Bash cards and 8 Chop cards, so that's a little weird... but oh well. @Sir Knight, The only Bash card I have is the one that comes on my wizard's Violet Staff, a level 1 common staff. Which doesn't do me any good, since the bruiser cards are fighter-only. As for the Bruiser cards themselves, I found them in the armory under the martial skills Untrained Bruising and Untrained Bashing.
Well, I currently have 63 items with a chop card, 15 items with Slicer, 29 items with Bruiser, and 124 items with a bash card. I can't say how early on I accumulated them. But obviously once I found them, I found substantially more Bash cards than I did Chop cards. So, perhaps it is just you Sir Knight.
You can use the wiki's search form to look for items bearing the cards you want. It supports searches via card name, item type and talent pips.
I found Bruiser and Bash, if I remember correctly 1-2 cards for both, so not so much. If you want to have for sure items for your bashing party, pick up the MP starter Bash Brothers.
