Starting Trait Slot

    Random thought I had today when trying to put together a build. It would be neat to add a new starting trait item slot to higher level characters, maybe when the next power token level comes out. It would be an item with a single trait card on it which would automatically attach to the character at the start of the match and then get cycled into your deck when discarded.

    At the cost of a power token, this would essentially allow your character to start with a beneficial trait. Either existing ones or new ones. These could have short or long durations and could be pushed off or purged just like any other trait. It could allow one to sacrifice some regular item power for start of match consistency. I've had builds which look fun and effective(crushing builds for example) but end up being sub-par when you don't get your key trait to come up in the first 2 rounds of a match.

    I have some reservations, but it seems like a card with 'Once this card is played, remove it from your deck. This card is immediately played at the start of any match. When played, this card adds a random trait card from your deck into your hand.' would add to potential character builds, which is generally a good thing.

    But then again.. I have reservations. That's the kind of thing that's hard to go back on when you commit to adding it, and it has the potential for some awkward restructuring of how the game is played.

    So nothing against adding it, but it's something that should be discussed at length, and the potential negative (and positive) scenarios reviewed, before we push it :)

    Short of revamping the system and adding some sort of 'Inherent Trait' slot, I don't see another real way to get it to work.

    Then again, an additional item slot! Woo!

    Less effect on overall build versatility, but definitely easier to conceptualize and manage- not to mention to simply off-hand add in to characters at a certain level reached, rather than trying to re-conceive how all current item slots function.

    One more similar idea:
    It would also be possible to add a "rune" slot to every character where players can choose from x different runes that each would add 1 (trait?) card to its deck. So decks would have 1 more card.
    Runes might be either all unlocked or unlockable somehow, whatever suits best.
