It would be nice if there was a option to skip all those card trigger animations if you have seen them before. The other thing i was thinking about was a option like the one in magic online. Where if you know for sure you are done playing cards for the turn there is a button you press to auto pass until the next round.
I've thought about this. The "Animation Speed" slider in the "Options" menu affects only the speed with which the cards appear and go away; nothing about dice or moving game models. It turns out you CAN skip animations by clicking the mouse while they're happening; this is helpful, but "Animation Speed" really should do some of it for you. Also, "auto pass" sounds like a good idea, such as when your hands are all empty. Hopefully hitting it wouldn't get habit-forming, though, because often what you really want is "keep passing unless the enemy plays some card that means you need to play something in response."
I know about the clicking but its getting to the point where both my mouse and finger is worn out from it because i use it so much. ^^' Their could also be a button to stop auto passing if you suddenly feel like you want to keep doing stuff but in general its just so annoying to click pass 10 times while waiting as something is being chained and I'm all out of cards.
Wow, this thread was hard to find. I remember seeing it ages ago, but I couldn't remember any good search terms, so I tried searching through Wozarg's posts, but that was like searching through 1/3 of the whole forum. Props on the prodigious posting Wozarg! Anyway, here's what I had to add: All the time spent on animations counts against your timer in PvP. This is only a small issue when you're just taking your turn, but it can turn into a huge time hit if you're going first and there's a lot of "housekeeping" animations. This doesn't really seem fair, since it's not really you that's causing it. Yes, you can click through them to make it go faster, but you're still losing time for that. And if you're clicking through it, it's hard to do the deep thinking needed to plan your next move. And you certainly can't be checking details like which attachments are where, what a figure's line of sight looks like, etc. So, if you are under time pressure, then it's actually a disadvantage to go first. And clicking through doesn't really help much if you don't have a super-killer-gaming-box. I've had to wait 30+ seconds for it to put together an animation for adding or removing a ton of effects at once (like with Rockfall). And you can't click through that. ...although, it does look like the timer may pause while it's waiting for an animation calculation. So, +1 to adding an option to disable or speedup all animations. And, please don't run the timer during "housekeeping" animation between turns. Wait until a player is actually taking their turn.
I know in games like "Fire Emblem" and "Advance Wars" you can go into the 'Options Menu' and choose to skip just about *everything.* They'll probably implement something like this when they start fine tuning everything for it's inevitable release date.
