Battle in unexplored sections of a spaceship with new multiplayer boards! I have currently made 4, and I might make more, if I get feedback. Each board has its own theme and is dissimilar to the existing boards. Board 1: Spaceship Bridge This section of the spaceship connects all the others! Board 2: Spaceship Engine Room Take your battles down to the ship's core at the engine room. Board 3: Spaceship Missile Silo The board is complete with a hole in the middle so you can place the missile! Board 4: Spaceship Understructure Finally, my favorite of the four. The sight lines you can get in this board are really interesting... Feel free to play on these boards (the .brd files are attached). I would also like some feedback, as I would like these boards to be in the best condition before I submit them for the PvP board contest.
How do you think one could improve them in terms of playability? They do conform to all Flaxative's rules except for the one with 2 separate VPs (Elves cannot dash from one VP to another), by the way.
Its only vague impressions based on the pictures. Paths seem all be cramped, corridors far apart that are easily turned into tedious bottlenecks. Does the hole actually act as blocking (sight) terrain?
The hole is blocking terrain, yes. The paths are often one wide to promote the use of Flight Aura and other flying effects since they're so good on these maps. You can do a good deal of Flash Flood blocking but you're usually out of tempo to do so. For instance, in the Spaceship Bridge, you need to be an elf wizard and be in a risky position after first move to place Flash Flood to block the lanes, but warriors can just save moves and start attacking at round 2 for greater success. Spaceship Bridge is actually intentionally cramped so wizards would have a hard time contesting the victory squares, much like Batford Parlor.
I like this one - interesting design, a bit like Barrel Battle but still nice. Are the pipes difficult terrain? If so then the map is too big but I still like the effect though I'd add a few more doodads and difficult terrain to the middle. I like the visual effect, a lot, but I would not like playing in it - too little VP and too spaced out (if both players are left with one or even two characters each and both players have occupied a VP each, it would lead to a frantic game of pass and discard any cards - not that I would not mind especially since I have not lost one of these to date ) This one I also like the visual of BUT the gameplay could either be very fun for both players or not fun for both. **** As a sidenote, if you want to work on these maps together I can do that, and also you can give me a title for a map and set me off to make it (I find it hard to create names for maps, but I like starting with a name and basing the map around it)
