I'm utterly and completely stuck on this mission. I went back and did a couple others to get new gear and have just about the best gear I can afford...yet I still keep loosing no matter what I do. Any hints? I equipped my Warrior with mostly shift/slide/range attacks so he can sneak in, but that just gets him killed first.
Yeah, lvl 1 is hard. try to be offensive, caster first, then spearmen then melees. your warri is better of with weapons that deal as much damage as possible, i really think its best to slay the spearmen before they get the chance to collect strong stabs, if youre lucky they are not that dangerous in the first 2-3 rounds.
Which map are you stuck on - first or second (the one with 2 darters and Slub'Gut)? If it's the second, do not engage - let them come to you and stay out out LoS from the priest at all costs - use the pillars to do this, and try stay away from at least one darter every turn. Even though my tactical journal might be outdated (there's been some rebalancing) - you might find it helpful.
If you could record an attempt and put it up on youtube like the people doing Let's Play videos do I may be able to offer more concrete advice. What I did though was make sure my characters had as many armor cards in their decks as I could and speced for heavy damage to single targets. Gang up on one, rinse, repeat.
Ten tries and still barely even close. At this point, I'm so frustrated I'm ready to just give up on the game entirely. Have tried EVERYTHING people have suggested with no luck whatsoever.

Thanks, Phaselock. Here is what I have... Grimnar Level 5 Human Warrior Grey Rapier Kobold Killer Thick Club Solid Mail Cover Shield Cheap Fencer's Boots Novice Gouging Findrunar Level 5 Elf Wizard Unstable Staff Orzo's Excellent Wand Zapping Headband Hot Crystal Heavy Green Robe Moldy Cloth Boots Untrained Electromancy Draghara Level 5 Dwarf Priest Neophyte's Cleaver Club Of Wrath Adept's Healing Mail Disintegrating Boots Blessed Demon Claw Crude Healing Charm Untrained Healer
Well, I'd recommend you upgrade your elf wizard with some terrain based spells. Anything that has Hot Spot, Wall Of Fire, Acid Spray should help. And get rid of the Unstable Staff, elf wizard drawing unstable bolt is kinda meh... It'll take a few tries to get the hang of casting terrain based spells under the mobs, helps if you can waste their moves or wait till they have zero cards in hand. Oh, Cover Shield is largely useful against the priest. Might wanna see if you can get a shield that has block/parry against the lizardmen.
And I'd try to replace Untrained Electromancy with Novice Electromancy or Novice Sparking if at all possible. Gets rid of that Arcane Feedback and replaces it with something useful. And maybe replace the Hot Crystal. You're going against a small number of spread out enemies with decent HP. Low damage cone spells like Burning Fingers are less useful in this situation.
