It seems like Charge, which does Crushing damage, logically counts as Melee. However, it does not trigger "bonus-to-melee damage"-type effects, like from Righteous Frenzy. Thoughts?
Its a straight line run. Dunno how I would feel about it doing bonus damage when its an abrupt move skill.
Its a move and attack card right? So probably doesnt benefit from either Attack or Move modifiers, can you imagine if it benefited from both ?
Sure, I can imagine that. The question is whether the devs intended it to do so (and, relatedly, factored this into its rarity/level). Maybe I should have put this in the Questions and Feedback forum. My apologies.
No its entirely a blue card. I consider the damage a bonus to the move. If it was blue/red then yes I would say it deserves this bonus.
If it benefited from melee damage bonuses, then would not something like Spiked Armor also benefit? Its melee range physical damage but i dont think i've had the occasion to see it in action with buffs
Too bad there are no hidden combo's like that, spiked armor + charge = combined damage, since now you're charging them with spiked armor XD
The question here is obviously if the team intended it not to work with damage buffs. I personally don't think it should since its not a true attack but both opinions are equally valid i would say.
I don't think it has an Attack Type (melee, magic, projectile) so it won't benefit from any buffs to those.
It does however benefit from movement boosters(and is penalized by encumberance). Try it with something like rushing aura or energized move. Much harder to build up damage that way though(I mean, how often are you lined up for an 6-8+ square charge?).
I did that once because i found it to be a hilarious end to a huge monster having a dwarf wizard plow in to you like a tiny bearded cannonball
