After several days of not finding a staff either in the store or in any adventures (my lvl 8 wizard has a lvl1 and lvl 2 staff equipped) I came to realization that rng might be a bit offputting - esp as I finally found 2 on sale , one of which I can't use yet - and the other a 25 gold lvl 2 staff that's not even really an upgrade. Maybe offer a common "baseline" item of every kind for the stores? At least lvl 1 commons in the first store for every slot would alleviate the - "I can't even find something to fill my unlocked slots!" that some people are disheartened about. Also, possibly a lvl 5 common for the second one et c. Currently it feels like the amount of divine armors in the shop (have access to the first two) is a bit off - have 5x divine armors in both ones for my current spawn! Each store has one item type with 3, but all the rest is either 1 or 2 items (or even 0).
I really like this idea of every slot having a common represented at its level in the store but thats a lot of items so the store would have to expand its stock which i think is fine. Possibly something like 1 common of appropriate level for every slot 5 random uncommons and 2 random rares that have the chance to be epic or legendary.
Update: hit lvl 10, my mage has 3+ talents that stand unused. Got an upgrade for one of my staffs in the initial store (now have a lvl 2 and a lvl 3 common!) - there's a lvl 10 rare staff in the 2nd shop - but that's 100 g... (Fun stuff is that the warrior has 2 rares and one epic weapon - that's rng for you I guess).
We've talked about vastly expanding the shop stock and ensuring that it always has at least one of each slot type. It's on my list to think about.
I definitely agree with the idea that the shop should stock one of every type. Case in point, the other day I was re-evaluating my equipment, and wanted to buy a new Helmet; I didn't like the few I had. None were to be had in either the Kyburz or Goblin shops. Don't get me started on my ongoing struggles with Human Skills, of which I have two and seen one other at level 13. I understand that as a casual player (approximately one hour a day, so maybe two adventures a day) I'll have less loot and coin. However, it's frustrating as a player to not even have the option of changing up options that are clearly not working for lack of options.
