Does BM benefit by having us play through Kongregate? If so, I'm very much in favor of it. I suspect setting it as a favorite and rating it highly helps give CH more visibility and may attract more players, but does time played have any effect? I'd appreciate any specifics about what things will help.
I'm pretty confident Kongregate offers some kind of revenue share. I.e. they give a cut of the income from advertisement (those which get displayed before the game is loaded), something like 20%-40% depending on various factors. For instance, games which implement the Kong API (for things like high-scores, badges, etc.) get a larger share, and so forth. Also, they award cash prizes to the most voted games of the week/month. We're talking a few hundred bucks here, so nothing huge. That being said, I think the main reason for BlueManchu to put the game on kong was drawing more players in, hence bigger playerbase => healthier game. But I guess whatever little amount of money they get in the process can't harm, right? And yeah, higher ratings + more ppl playing/favoriting the game helps tremendously with exposition.
