HOW MANY CAN I HAVE ? AND AS THEY COST 10 GOLD EACH...I NEED GOLD. SO I AM GETTING ITEMS FROM THE ROLEPLAYING MODULES I PLAY TO SELL AND GET 10 GOLD AND BUY A CHARACTER...SO HE CAN USE THE SWORD OR X ITEM I HAVE... Gold can be used for characters, items, leagues and chests (the chests are generally not worth it). You don't have to have separate characters for your different parties. Parties are used more to jump back and forth quickly between builds. So you can have Larry, Curly and Moe saved as Party 1 equipped with certain items, and then Larry, Curly and Moe saved as Party 2 equipped with different items and then Larry, Curly and Bob as Party 3 with a mix of items from the first two parties. Just make sure that when you remove someone from your active party you un-equip all their items first, this will allow you to use the items on your new member of the active party.
Gold is used to buy characters, items, some of the chests, and some of the league entry fees. It is a good idea to keep a large selection of items because you will need different types of things on different maps as you progress through the game.
