Not so sure i think the idea of random quests to speed run in a chance based game is good. Also its very very casual unfriendly which is generally not anything i care too much about but its something to consider. How about daily quests as a more slow paced form of making things feel fresh? For the more hardcore people how about a top 3 scoreboard for each adventure with the 3 fastest clears in turns and if that is too immersion breaking just putt it to the left or right out of view so the people who really care move over and check and the others don't notice it.
