So here is another proposal, given that the current prices of avatars are subject to change we'll not talk about them. As it is, you buy an avatar and its yours to use. I propose all of the avatars are already yours, you just need a place to put them. So in the theme of this board game, lets say you need to buy a shelf to hold the avatar. Buying a shelf (or stand?) lets you place any of the avatars on the shelf, and use that avatar. If you get tired of it, or change races/classes, put the avatar back and pick another, its your shelf. Want all of your characters to have unique avatars? Buy three shelves (they're small shelves) This way you'd only need to buy 3 spaces to let any of your teams have a unique look, if you ever regret a certain avatar you can swap it out, when they release new avatars you can swap it out ! Looks are about vanity anyways, so theirs no reason you couldnt buy more than 3 shelves (or stands) just to have a collection, maybe you want two separate teams all fancy, without manually swapping avatars in between (swapping avatars could have a 'shipping and handling' wait) Lastly, some avatars must be earned, its just so important for the free player to know they can earn something that cant be bought, through some in-game achievement or challenge system, and these would go with the Default avatars so you dont need a shelf to use them. Feed my back !
No, I don't wana see falic warriors charging at me in multiplayer. Also I wana clearly identify my enemies in PvP with standardized images I can clearly define
ooh i didnt mean you could use any image for any character, still locked by race/class and pizza shop selection as it is now, its just a change to the model for obtaining them. I should of just said PREMIUM avatars, not custom ones, gah i cant change it ><
I'm not sure what you mean by this then. You mean for my warrior if I wanted to use a different model I would go to my shelf and put that model on the table? Would they still use their same stats?
Yeah, currently you go to the avatar shop and pay to unlock a skin, then drag it over the appropriate race/class and it switches. I mean you are basically buying space to use avatars, rather than buying the avatars. If you ever got tired of your warriors avatar you can switch it out with any other premium warrior avatars (of that race). If you decide you want your Wizard to have a premium space, you could revert your warrior to his default, and swap it with a premium Wizard one. Just imagine it like it is right now, but with an 'exchange' button so if you get tired of an avatar, or just that class/race, you'd return it for another. The whole shelf/stand concept is just going with the board game/toy theme.
thanks ! I'm sure any customer would support it, but from a developers point of view, would people ever buy more than 3 shelves when thats enough for a party ? Who buys a X-Large fountain drink at a burger king that has free refills ? Can be modified to increase potential sales though, for example just separate the shelves by race (racially themed!) or class, or both. So i could have my 3 dwarf shelves and swap out any dwarf avatar i like, but should i lose my sanity and desire an elf i'd need an woodsy/flowery/silky/doughy elven shelf for a premium elf skin. Or the whole 'cooldown' between changing avatars, these both mean having more than 3 is beneficial.
Instead of shelves they should implement this Don't know it's name in english, but idea is nice! And you could buy additional pages for pizza, so they would have some consistency getting money, when game evolves and new avatars are released.
Are those... telephone trading cards? But yea, some way to be able to swap miniatures would be nice, though it would definitely have to have some cool down period or there'd be no point in getting more shelves (or binder pages as Szc is thinking).
lol, indeed those are telephone cards! I just threw random image from google images, so don't whip me for that
Honestly i would rather see the price of the avatars go down to some where in the 3-5$ area then have you able to utilize them all. Seams much more profitable to unlock the avatars one by one the way it is now but the price is a bit high. All content of beta is subject to change!!!!
To be honest i would not complain if they implemented this idea. But i also think that if there is one thing where we should give them room to earn money from, it's from vanity items, within reason ofcourse. In the short term they would earn more since shelfs should obviously be more expensive than one or two skins, but they lose the possibility to earn more in the long run i would think. And i would love to make them see a good profit with this game since that means they can invest more in new content overall. I did not vote since i am not for or against the idea, i just think the decision should be made more in favour of the developers in this case, again within reason ofcourse. I really like the idea of special skins you can earn through gameplay though. Maybe as a reward for winning all quests on an adventure, a pretty tough thing to do, so it would really mean something if you got one.
Rather than shelves, could be the little stands you have to buy, which makes lots of sense. Say you already have the little cardboard skin pieces but you need the plastic stands to use them and those are interchangeable. A binder works good too ! Racially dividing them might be the best option, so a maximum of 9 would be needed.
