I have now run out of time with my opponent being just behind me twice in a row. The timer is way too short. I am a very fast player, but Ooze Ball requires a lot of thinking and the timer just isn't allowing it. This last game my opponent just stalled me out of my last minute, just keeping me from getting my last point and not caring about actually winning.
IMHO, time is just another resource to be managed and stalling is viable, albeit frustrating, strategy.
While this is accurate, the time allotted a league isn't always correct, so requests to change the timer are legit. That said, I think Blue Manchu would need to see more popular support for this request before considering it.
I personally like the short timer for Oozeball. I've timed out myself or had to quickly click or pass to try and keep from timing out. I had to do that with Duffy today. We both had < 1 minute left on the timer. My last 5 turns were rapidly shoving opposing characters away and/or clicking pass since there was no way either of us could reach 3VP for a win. I won with a couple seconds left on my timer. In the end(win or lose) it just reminds me to play faster in the next match. Short timers in oozeball is usually a good thing since I've had matches where players were camp the VP after their oozeball gets kicked way out of reach. Those games can be long and tedious if you run up against an opponent who has decided to be completely defensive instead of trying to get their ooze on the VP. Time limit forces them to play the match as I end up passing until they decide to move one of their characters towards their ball again.
