Is there a FAQ or something somewhere of what all Pizza can purchase? I was considering buying all the treasure hunts and noticed that it said that the cost of all "11 basic treasure hunts" is 330. Are there non-basic treasure hunts? I know I can buy into the "club rewards", chests, other character standees.. but what all is there to purchase?
11 basic treasure hunts from the original version of the game 6 more treasures hunts from the very new Attack of the Artifacts expansion (one is free) Other things you can buy with pizza slices: -club membership -gold at the rate of 5 gold the slice -Costumes at 80 each (unless one is under promotion which happens often) -chests with random items -starter parties -soon some league enter fees And I think that's it.
Treasure Hunts 40 - individual hunt 330 - basic set of 11 (individually cost 440) 150 - Attack of the Artifacts set of 5 (individually cost 200) Club Membership - 300 / month, gets you an extra item from most chests Figures - 80 each, though often a set is on sale at 40 each Gold - ITS A TRAP (really, just sell off some items in the shops to get gold) Chests - ITS A TRAP (odds are you won't get anything useful) Starter Parties - 50 each, only Tezkal Elves is worthwhile at the moment League Entry Fees - ???, tbd The best value in the game is purchasing Club Membership + Treasure Hunts. Figures are fun, but don't affect gameplay at all. Tezkal Elves is a good way to get a boost when you're first starting off. Ignore Chests and Gold. Dunno how Leagues will pan out yet. (Mostly repeating Squidy, but with commentary.)
Well, gold isn't that big trap as chests are If there's something good in Randi and you don't have the gold, that's the correct way to go
True. A sure thing is always better than a gamble. If you have the time I recommend farming the gold because it gives a chance of finding more great items along the way. I know some don't the time, though.
I've come to think that buying chests comes to roughly the same price for items as if you bought them in Randimar's, but from chests you're buying random items. Sometimes they're good, mostly not. So if you want to get more items with your gold/pizza without waiting for months for something worthwhile to show up in Randimar's, chest buying is an option. Just prepare for lots of disappointments.
That's what I figured. In beta, I used my pizza to get a month's worth of club membership. But after launch I didn't feel like starting over from scratch. Now that the expansion is out I started playing again and was wondering what all my pizza could do for me. Even during beta I thought it might have been better to spend my pizza on the treasure hunts rather than the club membership, so that's what I did this time. Sure it gets me less treasure, but hopefully it will give me an edge with a few specific items instead of more items overall.
The Club is, by far, the best investment. As a person who has actually purchased chests: on the upside, you'll get a Legendary item just about every other chest. However, the only truly worthy Legendaries are level 6 and below because they're tokenless and level 18 Legendaries because they're most likely to be useful (though I'm guessing since I don't have many). The level 8 through level 15 Legendaries are kind of blah and certainly not worth the money I put into them. I mean Hand-held Ram, really? Chests may be getting a buff soon, so the value proposition may go up sooner or later.
If you have plenty of gold (no need for pizza here) and you haven't been playing lately, the common 10-18 level AoA chests could be worth it, as you would be getting new stuff at no pizza-cost. And you can't purchase the high level items at the shops, so even a common 16, 17 or 18 level item is welcome.
Forget what I said, there are no 1-19 or 10-18 AoA chests, just one brown AoA chest with no level difference. Still, I spent some gold on them the first week of the expansion, but now it's mostly a waste of gold.
