Delete that league. Remove it. It is no fun at all. After playing for several minutes my client crashed and the minute I was able to get in favor for me was just away. As long as the client is as buggy and laggy as it is currently, there is no meaning in playing Oozeball. It was worse before the steamrelease and it was the first time i tried it since then, but it was more than worse. Edit: The funniest thing is, that nobody else in my pod did play.
I personally find that it's too easy to stall by plopping your non-ball characters onto the victory square. If you prioritize denying your opponent points (rather than getting them yourself) you can make sure pretty much every game results in a timeout. I maintain that timeouts are not fun; ask any toddler.
Oozeball is easily one of my favourite leagues if not my top favourite and I would loathe for the only purely positional league to be removed, it's one of few leagues where I consistently play out all four matches. I've never had any issues with the client or opponents blatantly stalling for time-out during Oozeball. Why should a league be removed when there's always 4 leagues in a rotation and they're twice more common than they used to be, just because some people don't like it? If the developers did that we'd have to remove every league, from people saying QD is frustrating when you get shafted with a shoddy build for the map and the slow drafting to constructed leagues too narrow and impenetrable for new players and personal tastes for all of the preconstructed leagues? I don't think I've seen a single league without someone saying it's horrible, I know I find some leagues horrible myself but I'd never ask for them to be removed.
It sounds like you have two separate issues here (some client problems and not liking oozeball). Maybe you should poke around the support thread to see if anyone else is experiencing anything similar. Personally Oozeball is one of my favorite leagues, since it's a huge departure from other PvP types. But that's just my opinion
No, because (assuming the time limit on Turret Tango actually gets increased) it's the only league where a significant portion of games result in timeouts. When the time limit was raised to 15 minutes, Oozeball was briefly my favorite league as well, until I realized just how easy it still was to cheese the timer. Winning like this isn't fun for me, and it certainly isn't fun for those I'm playing against, but it is unfortunately a very effective strategy.
Delete PvP. Remove it. It is no fun at all. It also causes chat spamming, and is ruining SP balance. Or keep it. Whatever.
If Oozeball wasn't in the league rotation, we could instead be playing leagues that are more fun than Oozeball. Straightforward, yes?
I think you can take a 5-hour break from league play once a day to sleep. We really want you to be playing nonstop, but if you don't sleep, you'll die, and if you die, you can't buy pizza. So playing only 3 leagues a day is ... hmm ... acceptable.
Ok, there seem to be people, who like the league. Never mind. But in my last pods rarly anybody was playing it. But you should have more representive data. Is this an offer to switch the cycle of leagues to an 24 hour cycle and have the constructed leagues be in my nights? I would love that. The only problem would be to decide whether a bring your deck league or a Quick Draw should be in my evening time. Can I decide that dependening on the constructed league? You are right. At the weekends the client is much more unstable and sometimes it will crash even after ten minutes. This weekend it happened very often. Hopefully it will be better in the week. Allthough I have there not as much time as in the weekend. What is certainly the problem with all the other random people hanging around at the weekend and causing server traffic. And you are right with the other thesis. I dont like it much and just played it since nobody else in my pod was playing. Seemed like an easy way to get chests.
You forget that people in different time zones(so some time zones they will never be able to play some types of leagues) play this game.
Honestly, i found it very entertaining, all my matches were played fairly, no VP blocking or timeout victories. It was very fun, i felt like watching a sport match
100% of my oozeball matches have ended in timeouts. Yawn. My suggestion would be to decrease the number of stars required for victory. Currently it's 3, right? Maybe take it down to 2 or even 1.
It is hard to tell when you don't speak in person especially if they don't use anything special to denote them.
Every time someone complains in world chat about Oozeball- and it does happen often- two people vouch on its behalf. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of people that appear to dislike it, but common sentiment seems to be reasonably favorable. Also, in regard to your tangent topic, I'm not aware of anyone having buggy/laggy issues, from my regular co-op partners/discussion partners, other than often-but-not-always getting general slowdown [memory leaking?] after hours of keeping the client up. If you're having specific issues, you may need to report those, since it doesn't seem to be affecting most players [from my window into it] :X In any case, not that my opinion on PvP matters much at the moment, but -I- liked Oozeball. Of course, I also like Pong, so again, my opinion here might not matter for much
I depends on the day. In the week I can play for some time without problems. At weekends the client freezes often and sometimes even if the client was just open for ten minutes. I dont know why my client should break, when there is a lot of traffic on the server, but it does. It depends ofc also from the things I do. When I do speedfarming it is much more likely I have to restart, than when I play multiplayer games, which take a while. And speedfarming on the weekends is a thing you dont want to do.
Hm. I haven't encountered any issues [other than the occasional Flash crash, and the occasional memory-leaking over time] regardless of day, and I sometimes keep the game up through 30+ module runs, and I've kept the game up through most of a day several times before [usually due to falling asleep at the keyboard ] For reference, I'm using Kongregate, and I haven't ever had Steam up near as long as all that, and it does seem to be a lot slower and quirkier for me. Perhaps switching which client you're using may help in some way? Or browser- I know people've had issues with Chrome and the game several times before, and Chrome has its own memory-leaking issues. So try Firefox at some point, if you're using Chrome.
