Presumably the priest balancing will tweak Mass Frenzy or Impenetrable Nimbus. I wonder whether the skill balance changes are for class or race? Race is mostly balanced, IMO. There aren't really any stand-out class skills except triple-Altruism, triple-Talented Healer, and Electroporter Novice. I don't think I've ever had a token to spare on a warrior skill, and the two-trait skills are good enough.
Yeah, I just saw it myself and wondered what it was. Haven't seen any comments here about it though. I was working on a write up in a few days on balance changes but I guess they got to it first.
I'll be posting on the blog when the changes go to test, probably in the next couple days. A brief overview: • There're a couple changes to stuff that's MP-relevant, continuing the previous balance work. • A lot of early game priest cards and items changed, focus being on how fun priests are campaign, but there're a couple further-reaching changes as well. • Racial skill items got a revision, focus again being on making more of them playable/interesting in campaign. Overall, these changes are more targeted at singleplayer than at multiplayer, but multiplayer will be affected. More details soon.
I somewhat enjoyed that Priests are the best zero-token melee brawlers, but it's been a while since I played the early maps.
Nop. Controlled Overswing and Wavering Faith are very powerful (and commonly available) at low levels. Also, any healing is completely OP at low levels, and priests get better early stabs. Great items include: Mace Of The Angry Novice, Malign Mace, Sacrificial Axe, Martyr's Pick, True Strike Spear, Midnight Shroud, and Gray Prayer Beads.
Ok, yes, there're plenty of viable rares. I won't say more for now, the changes should be on test, and blogged about, by Monday.
I don't know I think Humans could use a little buff if you ask me, heck i would just take a ban on Lateral Thinking which is worst card in the game with all due disrespect to Battlefield Training. Altruism is nice but the token for a 3rd is not a great deal IMHO. Focused Healer is a touch OP and Electroporter Novice is the ultimate shortcut for non-fire mages. I run a, 1-1-1 2 humans and a Dwarf Priest in SP and there were many early campaign battles where I was left with my priest hanging in by herself.
