Manor Control....

....so I have found, with my three human wizards, that some extreme control is necessary to even try to contend on this rotation of maps. This is what I have come up with, but I'm open to any suggestions on fine-tuning.

In a perfect world, another Cottonwood Staff to replace Mullik's Blisterstaff might be preferable, but I suppose the Firestorm can come in handy in a dire situation. I actually find that more Winds Of War or Gusts Of War might be helpful. However, then it's a game of keep away, and not much damage being done. Maybe some Flash Flood might be helpful as well, but I don't know where to fit it in.

    Thanks. Merci. Domo Arigato.

Well, at least I have that going for me, I suppose.

I'm surprised you went for Bluestone Pendant and Locket of the Gale over Runestone or Blood Locket. I would have thought that the latter offer better consistency and just as much control.
You could also try some of the Illusory Barrier items instead as that spell is crazy good for slowing down warriors and wizards.

Locket of the Gale does give you 2 WoW to the 1 of the others. More wind all of the time. At least that was my thinking.

I did replace the two Wand Of Seared Air with 2 of Waenog's White Chain to obtain some Flash Flood. Has not made a difference in my elo dropping like a rock. Still working on it, however.

Oh well, ultra-annoying Volcano and Firestorm deck is next, I suppose. At least the games to get to a ranking of 800 will be quick.

I have seen some interesting Firestorm decks in last few days (one dwarf priest + 2 dwarf wizards) within 1300-1400 ELO, so it may be worth a try.

Well, no priests for me, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the intel.

Been waiting to see if anyone would catch on. Firestorm is almost at its old power on most of these maps. ;)

Tried it (firestorm/volcano) this morning to little success. Might go back to it at some point, and it might be okay with some tweaks, but rolling with something else now.

You said you had no priest, right?

No priest. 3 human wizards, who are also 3 stunningly good-looking ladies. Just look at them out in battle. A bunch of lookers.

EDIT: These three ladies are working well enough for me to obtain all 20 wins for the Epic Chest in 6 hrs., 56 mins. So....they seem pretty efficient.

Perhaps I'll post the revised Trio of Temptation later today, but let's just say I have discovered and embraced the power of SQUEAMISH.

I remember a scared little girl who liked squeamish a lot. Funny thing was, she never seemed squeamish or scared.

That's funny; my three girls don't seem that scared either. Huh.

I was finding the acid of the Whiterune Staff much more helpful on these maps than the Illusory Barrier on Yoloxl's Staff.

However, I have fallen away from the control a little bit, as the below deck has taken me from 1080 to 1479 in a day. Squeamish not making a difference for bursts and linear attacks makes it a non-issue 99% of the time. Elven warriors with a lot of step moves and Elven Maneuvers are still a bane, but if I stay away and leave them a little lava at the end of the round, it tends to mitigate the effect. Dwarfs with a lot of armor can be a pain as well, but no deck is going to be perfect against everything.

I imagine the Warp Robes could be switched out for something like Robes Of Lightness to get an extra trait in there, but the Dimensional Traveller and extra move card is more important, in my opinion. So many people want to end the round right next to you; it's nice to get that one extra step to get away. Also, the Mystical Drakehide rids you of more attachments than you might think, which in turn mitigates a lot of long-term damage.

I imagine there's some more fine-tuning that could be done, especially with Miss Chastain; I don't know if I want to keep Searing Pain in, or go back to a dual Roaring Staff set-up, as the range of ten for the Sizzling Bolt is great for the Ballroom. Then again, the burst of two on Fireball makes me think a Staff Of The Fire God with the SP. Also, Asmod's Telekinetic Chain is there only because I obtained it recently, and the two additional Telekinesis seemed better than the additional Glob Of Flame from Berian's Locket.

It's rolling well for now, like a Valentine's Day present to myself, haha. Also, what is the record for most links to the wiki in one post? I think I'm close.
