When I lose the first map of a series it prompts me to "Replay (2 attempts left)". So I have to jump back to the Keep and abandon the adventure to keep it from counting against me. Retrying a first map should be the same as first starting it.
I have to agree i do this as well and its just tedious and pointless while taking time away from me and taking advantage of the newer players lack of knowledge about this.

It is definitely silly. I've invested too much time to be throwing gold at reviving my party! I need that gold!!!
