Gary passed. phaselock passed. Trog Gougers discarded Spear Thrust. Trog Gougers discarded Crude Plates. DWiz_test1 reacts! Am I supposed to be able to know what my enemy discards ? Is he able to know what I discarded ? The cards were hidden while in its hands and some cards are visible during discards, some not....weird rule at work ?
This has been noted before. I got the impression (during dev multiplayer battles) that they want you to be able to see all discards, and the current "not all are visible" is actually the bug. I don't think that's a good idea, as it grates on people who've played most any card game before. I don't want people to see my discards in poker; I don't want it in Magic; I don't want it here.
I'm at the opposite camp. I like being able to see what the enemies discarded as it adds another element to making decisions.
Yes, the very fact that you find it useful is why human opponents don't want you to do it. Don't expect it to happen at a poker table, for instance. In human vs. human matches, we already can see the item of origin on a card. That is a bit of strategizing that we knew the designers intended. This is something else.
