I completed Compass of Xorr and then merrily ignored Melvin's boasting and crushed Lord Stafford's Treasure instead. Upon completing it, I expected at least one level 9 adventure to unlock, but... it didn't. Nothing new showed up on the map. I've closed the browser and logged back in, but that didn't fix anything. As I skipped Melvelous, I'm wondering if all the unlocks were accidentally (or intentionally) tied to it's completion instead of LST's? Full disclosure, though, Flash crashed as I was returning to the map after beating LST and I had to log back in to the game. It's possible I just "lost" those unlocks to my computer's nonsense. Again. If so... ugh... sorry for being such a challenge to deal with, guys. At any rate, I'm out of time for today, but I'll mop the floor with Melvelous tomorrow and see if that fixes things, if nothing else.
Since Melvelous is a major "story" gate I'm pretty sure it's legit - and I've noticed Joe doing a lot of unlock changes due to his work. Would be weird for the storyline to be able to pass around it too much.
I changed it yesterday. I got a nasty letter from some guy called Melvin, demanding that we change the unlock structure of the game. It oozed entitlement. He claimed to be the designer. As if! He seemed kind of weird, like the kind of guy who might do something crazy, so I made the change. I guess he must be a friend of Jon's. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.
Ah. Understood. Was planning on saving that adventure for my second party, but no worries. I'll just go beat it now.
I'd just like to add, then, that having three main story adventures at level 8 is a bit odd when most of the other levels only have two plus a premium.
