Longest title? In short: despite my level 19 team being eligible for xp from a lvl 17 adventure(expected xp: 2), beating it with their levels reduced to 7 gained them no xp whatsoever.
Wait, wait: quests don't give XP, remember? They're supposed to give you loot rewards (higher-rarity), not XP.
Oh right... duh. Not that I've really had noticably better loot when I've beaten quests, pretty much ever. If there's a bonus, it's not very noticable.
According to Jon, it's like the for-pay treasure chests: However, one might argue that this is not very noticeable, indeed, since you often get a rare for completing a quest anyway. To speak more definitively, we'd need to know the percentages for different rarities and then do some calculations. Say, an "expected value" for rarity, and also "what's the percentage chance of at least one rare out of five items?" Which is trivially easy if only Blue Manchu were willing to give us the numbers, which I'm sure they would not. But if we had that, then we'd be able to see how much of a "good deal" we get on a quest. Since I think "rare" things are still too common, I doubt that quests guaranteeing "at least one rare" does much for the gamer.
Indeed, but I'm convinced that the pizza chests give better odds of higher rarity than quest chests do. Though perhaps I just have too small a sample size when it comes to quest chests(I'll check next time I play but I think it's somewhere in the 20-30 range I've completed). I think I got an epic once in one of my earliest quests, but nothing over rare since then.
I would be fairly convinced the odds are the same for pizza chest and quest honestly but its much easier to open 5 chests then do 5 quests
Actually I'm completely 100% certain that they are not the same. I've had quest chests with only 3 items, and pizza chests are always 5, this alone is enough to skew the odds in the favor of pizza chests, even if all else is equal.
I have had quests chests with just 1 item. But to be more clear i think the chance of getting a epic instead of a rare is just as high not that the chance of getting a epic is just as high obviously thats not true since as you say pizza chest is 5 and quest chest is often 3 but always between 1 and 6
