I am new to the game and was curious if there is any penalty for me leaving an ongoing adventuring party?
Mainly noticed I can farm certain zones and leave after the 1st part is complete. I figure this is a good way to
farm free chest and is this the way to go about doing it?
I was paying close attention to my gold thinking maybe there was some sort of downside to leaving and restarting but I don't see one. I guess my guys don't level up but keep getting items.

So is there a penalty for doing this at the moment? Thank you in advance!

IMO it's more efficient to finish an adventure that isn't exhausted, as you get a chest with more items and guaranteed better rarity. But if you're clearing the first section of an adventure very quickly and want to keep clearing it over and over, there isn't a particular penalty for doing that.

  3. No penalty, per se; it's all opportunity cost. It's not going to get any harder and your characters won't actually lose anything.

One note is that you'll never find the Hidden Bandit unless you finish the adventure. But if you're grinding just to get any sort of gear at that level range, rather than for income so you can go on a shopping spree at Randimar's, you may not actually care about that.

Before the change that allowed playing any part of an adventure after it was exhausted for the day, this was called speed farming. There is nothing wrong with it. I still do it sometimes if I feel like playing, but don't want to exhaust an adventure before the Loot Fairy moves. It is a good way to find items in that level range and help build your gold reserves, even though it's less lucrative than getting the end of adventure chests.
