I'm about to start playing again. Last I played was before the Citadel expansion. My collection was never very impressive (I haven't beat lvl 14 modules). So I'm mostly curious if the Citadel's new cards make it even harder to collect new, useful gear for the original campaign, since the item pool is even more diluted than it was. Or do Citadel cards make it even easier? I've never been very good at this game, but I'm not sure if it's just because my poor skill or if I never found the right cards (and now it's even harder to find them?) Does my question make sense? Any thoughts?
If you didn't know, 99% of the Citadel items require major tokens. That means that most of them you can't use in the majority of the SP campaign. That also means that you only get them as possible loot starting from lvl 15 adventures. (or something like that) There are couple of items from Citadel that I use constantly in SP: - Shielding Warp Boots are especially good for low level Firestorm wizards. - Automatic Shield does wonders in Shrine of the Astral Guardians and Return to the Astral Shrine. - Overheated Force Suit is just great for high level wizards. Mostly the new expansion affects higher level adventures in SP and IMHO makes them easier. (although I still avoid lvl 18 AotA adventures like a plague)
Co-op loot fairy twice a day, lootie now pays two extra items in a co-op chest, double and even triple legendaries are not unheard of. There are a few Citadel cards getting love in MP: cushioning armor, laser thrust, radiation bomb, etc. Then there are niche cards for certain maps and leagues, like teleport jump in Triple Duel. There's a new expansion in the immediate future as well, so obviously the meta will change again. Perfect time to get back into it! Hit me up for co-op in these, still hit and miss with Blitzy, but I've got Elder Mind and Troll Tyrant down to a fine art.
