This has happened many times, but I finally have a concrete example. I was attacked with a "Short Spark" (Hard to Block 2) I used "Reliable Hide Armor" to block. And I rolled a 1. Subtracting 2 from the Short Spark should have given me a -1. Or is the math happening before the die is shown to me? Because if so, I would think you would want to see the actual die first then subtract from it, so a player can follow along.
You should probably check the section Types of Cards on the help page: http://www.cardhunter.com/how-to-play-card-hunter/ Short version: Hard to Block only affects Block cards (green cards). Block cards will stop the whole attack but don't work against attacks from behind. Reliable Hide Armor is an armor card (grey card). They always trigger but usually just reduce the damage. Hard to Block has no effect on armor cards.
Yeah, true. You can check the meaning of Hard to Block (just like with other keywords) by hovering the mouse over the keyword in the game. In case of Hard to Block 2 it says: Subtract 2 when rolling to block this card. Which does somewhat hint that it works specifically against Block cards
The roll won't go higher than a 6 or lower than 1, even if modified. If you have Bad Luck on you, you can't sucessfully block with unreliable block(which is 6+), but you will still always reduce damage with Reliable Mail(which is 1+).
