Minor note: The first time I got to use Invigorating Touch it had me scratching my head before using it. The card text says "For each point of damage this attack does, Heal 1 to yourself". The foe I was facing had only 2hp left and I was far from sure how much healing the card would then give: 2 (since that's what how much the foe had left) or 6 (as per the listed damage on the card). As it turned out, the spell healed the full 6hp I was hoping for but it was a bit amusing to look at the battle log which said on consecutive lines: Enemy took 2 Unholy damage. Hero was healed 6 hp. It's of course logical if you consider there to be two different viewpoints: how much damage the attack does (6 damage -> 6x heal 1) and how much damage the foe takes (2 hp left -> takes 2 damage) but it's still far from obvious beforehand.
Yes, that's a question. If we take this sideways: presumably, armor would reduce the "points of damage this attack does," right? So if ARMOR reduced it to "Enemy took 2 Unholy damage," you SHOULD only Heal 2, right? If that's the case, then why would a 2 HP enemy somehow earn you Heal 6? They deliberately programmed this "only show damage up to the total HP on the enemy" deal. I'd prefer if they didn't (if I saw the full damage, then I'd have corroboration on the mental calculations I do as a natural part of gameplay), but it's there in the programming and we have to work with it. Thus, the sudden change for such "health-draining" attacks looks funny.
Just thought I'd add, I've got Invigorating Touch on a Vampire's Blade, and it does seem slightly odd that you're taking more health than the enemy has (purely because of the vampire link in this case), whichever way you look at the damage.
I think the skill works as it should the question is if overkill numbers should be shown making it more logical
I quite like the utility/balance of the card (I think it's gold but I can't check right now) at the moment, description not withstanding; I'm not sure how other people feel =o If it did continue to behave in this way it would probably benefit from a wording change ~ "Restores 6 hp".
