HI there, I'm having some problems with my party. Two of my characters are level 6, yet for reason, it's being displayed as level 4. Both characters are able to equip level 6 items...and I do recall specifically seeing level 6 half an hour or so before. I'm not entirely sure as to when it changed, or how to fix / revert it. Do I have to delete / hire new characters?
You can always equip items over your level, so that's no indication. Also, are you trying to do lower level adventures? That might cause a temporary de-levelling.
Yes, I've been doing lower level modules / dungeons. Is that an actual mechanic of the game, do you get de-leveled for doing lower leveled modules? Strangely enough, my third party number isn't affected by this. It's showing as LVL 5, with X amount of experience. It's only my two highest, who are level 6-6-, or 6-7.
If think if you're more than 2 levels above the adventure, you get de-levelled yes . Intended mechanic - not sure it's ever explained however. The reason for this would probably be to counter grinding low level adventures to level past harder ones - and bypassing the sp content as ez mode. There's a chart somewhere with xp/level - I'm sure SirKnight or someone else will dig it up for us shortly.
You can see it each time you click on a module. Your party is listed at the top of the right-hand page, and it changes color and gives you a special message if and when you are too high-level. It tells you explicitly the level to which you will drop. XP goes like this: compare your level to the adventure's level, and if your level is . . .
