I just got my Wizard high enough level to use my Staff Of Glowing Coals! Firestorm is Fantastic! I was cackling when my foes all died in flames... so did an ally or two, but I WON!
Wow, Firestorm is a hilarious card--I hadn't ever seen it before. I now really want to build an all wizard party around the concept of getting as many copies of Firestorm, Resistant Hide, and boosts to burning damage (Kindler, etc.) as possible. Get Resistant Hide in hand, Firestorm the whole board repeatedly, ignore the damage, repeat until victory. I'm not sure you could be effective with this strategy, but you could certainly be hilarious. (Volcano would also work great with this, of course. )
That's awesome. I mean, you don't want a gimmicky combo deck to be dominant--if it's overly powerful, the game could become lame, or everyone could have to make sure they have Resistant Hide or something similar in their decks. But I think it's great that it can be viable, as long as other approaches can beat it.
I got a Storm Circlet really early, and an Orb Of Flames around level 5 or 6, and yes it really is a great card (it could have won the last battle of Frozen Earth all by itself because the trog wizards didn't draw any armor the first round). I haven't gotten many Resistant Hides yet, so I usually avoid Blazing skills when I use it. OMG, Firehide Robes! wantwantwantwant
I have those robes. Personally I prefer one of the robes with multiple hides, such as Crackling Cloak to mix with Firestorm . But it's an odd card to play with. Lots of calculating who is going to die first.
There's bit of a problem there: that item and all other items with multiple hides are no longer in the game (according to the wiki).
