But I can't get rid of them until I reach an arbitrary point several hours into the game. I'm already a couple hours into the game, and I think half of that time was spent shifting through all the junk I can't get rid of until much MUCH later into the game. gg
I feel that you're exaggerating both how long it takes to get to the point where you can sell things, and how hard it is to look through equipment. For a bit of perspective, I started playing this game during the beta. I have thousands of items. I've never once sold anything other than treasures. I do understand that some people like to keep their stash small and tidy. But I suggest you just try not to worry about that until you've gotten to that "arbitrary point" later in the game, when you might have a greater appreciation of the value of having a varied collection of items to choose from. I'm sure you can handle having a handful of spare items until then.
