Hard to block on cards that are not hard to block

I've noticed this several times now: sometimes a block roll has a penalty when it shouldn't (the die rolls, and then some amount is subtracted). Most recently, this happened when I played Fiery Stab, and there were no attachments that should have had any effect (see attached image).

 

You are playing vs mom too often. The elf has that 10 attack chop that subtracts 2 from block rolls.
