In what order do ground effects resolve? It doesn't matter all that much generally but against the meld puddings and such it really does.
Whoops, this question doesn't seem to have been answered. Did you figure it out yourself yet? If not, could you rephrase the question? Because I think you're asking about terrain effects, and the only "order" that I could see there would be "in what order do multiple terrain effects go when they are on the same tile," and there's a max of one effect per tile so there's never a concern.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXOOOOOOO OOOOOOOXOOOOOOOOOXOOOOOO OOOOOOOXOOOOOOOOOOXOOOOO OOOOOOOXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOXOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOXXOOOOOOOOOO Imagine that as the battlefield and the X as the hotspot/firewall ground effects in what order do they do damage?
Ahhhh. Dunno. It's likely that the usual "oldest to newest" or "newest to oldest" (I can never remember) order applies to which batch burns first. Within a batch it might be similar: after all, the tiles physically appear in some order, instead of simultaneously. Feel like testing? I'm in multiplayer right now, and I'm okay with standing still if you are (since we don't know who will draw lava first). If you don't catch me, then of course you can try the same in some single-player level.
I'm afk at the moment so can't check the code, but I suspect we iterate over all the tiles in a scanline type pattern and apply any board attachments as they're found. The origin tile is at the bottom of your screen by the way. In contrast, we probably do character attachments by iterating by player, then group, then actor. Happy to hear thoughts on these.
Yep, we iterate starting from the origin (bottom of the screen). Rows lead up to the right and columns up to the left and we do each row in turn, so we start by going from the bottom to the NE corner, then step up one row and do the same and so on until we end up at the top of the screen. Also, actor attachments are updated before any terrain attachments.
