Code: You entered HIGH (Molotova) ... Molotova passed. Gary passed. Puma discarded Reliable Hide Armor. Tiger reacts! (unknown actor) feels the painful jolt of Arcane Feedback Tiger took 1 Arcane damage. Tiger died. Gary scored 2 points. Forest Edge Map. No Death Challenge. I pass, knowing that my poor Tiger is in dire straits: He has 1 HP and has Arcane Feedback, I still had some hope since he was wearing Shimmering Aura Weird things: 1/ Tiger appears as (unknown actor) when he feels the pain of Arcane Feedback. Log has no problem with his name above or below that entry. 2/ He does not get to try to protect himself with Shimmering Aura. 3/ Game freezes at this point. I was of course expecting a "DEFEAT" at this point... timer is still going, cant do anything meanwhile. (The Shimmering Aura is still appearing, I can zoom on it for instance.)
Apart from 2) Arcane Feedback not counting as a spell, so it shouldn't trigger Shimmering Aura this sound related to game hanging on deaths based on traits.
Thanks. So hanging on trait based deaths is a known bug. This seems related yes, even though it is not a trait. It seems to be a general bug then: Game hanging for decisive deaths during the "clean-up step"
If by "decisive" you mean "ends the whole match," not necessarily. Two things: A thread on how Arcane Feedback causes a game freeze if it kills someone. And a thread on how Traits that trigger on death may cause a game freeze. . . . In both cases, the problem can happen whether it's the end of the match or not. Pengw1n's comment about Traits is interesting, and I wonder whether there's some connection between all these triggered cards--but Molotova is right that Arcane Feedback is not actually a Trait. If there's a connection between the threads, it's in the trigger and/or death.
Yeah, you guys are right - it's a drawback - got my wording messed up, but it seems likely this is related to the death on trait hang, or even the death on spiked mail I had a while back. Maybe it's an issue with "passive deaths" rather than actual traits or cards etc ?
Actually, connecting Arcane Feedback and Spiked Mail problems might make a lot of sense. But what about how Spiked Mail tends to go missing before the crash? (Same here). They might be unrelated. Or such a thought COULD be an important insight. Maybe there's a single value somewhere that's not getting set correctly, and the game needs it for obscure reasons related to ALL of these cards. I can imagine lots of values like that: maybe some obsolete card (or future card) depends on "ownership" of the death itself, and the game needs to check "who killed you," but it's only partly implemented and as such causes collisions.
