So, this is weird and I am not sure if the problem is on my end or on the Cardhunter end, but I frequently lose connectivity with my machine when I am playing Cardhunter. This never happens when I am visiting other sites or using other applications. But at least once a day (and sometimes half a dozen or more time a days and repeatedly - for example just happened 5 times in a row, so I gave up and came here to report it), I will be in the middle of battle and I will lose connectivity and will have to reset my network adapter and refresh to continue playing (losing one of the precious "retries" on difficult boards, I might add ) I thought it was a coincidence, but a while back I was too busy with work to get to Cardhunter during the day (and was spending my late evenings play Dead Space 3 on my XBox when it came out) for about a week and I noticed that I never lost connectivity during regular web-surfing during that time. When I returned to CH, the disconnections started up again. There seems to be no pattern that I can notice to this occurrence. Any ideas?
I have this problem with my connection but have never been able to tie it to card hunter in any way. If you are using wireless internet like me it could very well be that it doesn't send enough data and goes in to sleep mode and then the software is wonky and doesn't know how to wake it properly.
Yeah, the only thing I can think of is that Card Hunter is sending a very low volume of data compared to other apps, particularly if you are taking a while to consider your moves.
I don't think that's it. I will get kicked in the middle of making a move, plus I tend to be very quick about making my choices. Also, I totally lose connection and cannot reconnect until I reset the adapter. However, if my wife is on the wifi on the same time she never loses connectivity, and it seems to happen as often if I am the only person on the wifi or if two of us are on.
Sorry, really can't think what this could be. Let us know if you keep seeing it associated with Card Hunter.
It could be your dns, wifi adaptor, background processes, signal strength, interference etc... You can try to eliminate if Card Hunter is actually the cause. Have your task manager open, close all unnecessary apps and play CH normally. Watch the CPU usage history for performance spikes. Ideally, while making moves, there shouldn't be much data transfer and so no real need for cpu boost. If you do see spikes prior to a disconnect, its likely an adaptor issue. Hope it helps.
