First successful try at a custom scenario! Yay! Try it out and give me some constructive criticism! Hopefully you guys can help me fix this up and I can enter it into Mauve Manticore. Here it is: Fleshy Invaders Prologue: You've lived here since you sprouted, here in this peaceful lakeshore. This is the world you've known and the world you love. You know the name of every sapling, squirrel, spider, and bird. The forest realm is eternal and undying, you've always thought, a place of life and peace. But you've caught wind of a terrible sickness, spreading like wildfire among your brethren. You've traveled to the origin of the disease, hoping to destroy it to preserve the forest realm. You find a mass of flesh eating away your brethren, destroying home and devouring families. Unnatural creatures lurk around the ooze of flesh. Your brothers and sisters stand at your side. The forest needs you. These vile creatures must be stopped. Epilogue: You've done it! The creatures have perished by nature's wrath, the sickness gone. The creatures left behind some odd trinkets, though. Perhaps they could serve as toys for the young saplings.
I like the amount of doodads used but here are a few problems: The open, difficult and blocked terrain is impossible to tell apart. The map is a bit too small. The gameplay is a bit too difficult. My suggestions: Reassess what tiles are what terrain. Take away one rumbling mutant and add a normal mutant - then make two groups of two mutants.
The main problem is with the terrain, exactly as BVD described it. You can't understand easily when playing what is open and what is difficult. I guess the point of it is to make the Mighty Oak move 1 square at a time so as not to get out fast and the spiders to have a small movement advantage with scamper vs the strength of the mutants. But then you should have split some spiders at the left side of the map. Also what is the point of having rumbling mutants if 70% of the terrain is either difficult or unpassable? Just for the teleport? If I were you and kept the map in its current form, I'd remove the rumbling mutants and replace them with other units, probably ranged, either Mutant Gunners or Cyber Mutant Gunners.
