Flax's Thirsty Vial Wuuna's Vampiric Shroud Is that supposed to happen? I don't remember any of them being halloween or christmas items.
Yeah Flax's was a special item commemorating something... I can't recall what at the moment. So it falls under the same category as holiday items.
I did something cool last winter and that was my reward. @Jon, what do you think about replacing Wuuna's entirely with Flax's? I've been thinking it's weird that it's functionally twice as common as every other epic by nature of being in the game twice.
I like having both, because it gives a better chance of getting one and they're better than most of the other epic divine items at that level. It doesn't matter to me since I'm maxed out, but I think a little weighting in their favor for new players doesn't hurt anything.
Ah, I was thinking whether or not there's a double chance of getting 1 of them. It's also possible that getting an epic vamp item is as likely as getting any other that level epic and then it's 50:50 which one will drop.
I really don't think Blue Manchu have ever made the system any more complicated than picking a level (weighted), rarity and treasure/not and then picking randomly from all items matching those. This gives double chance for doubled items. Defining item categories and coding support for stuff like "epic vamp item" goes so far beyond the simpler system that there would have to be an overwhelming reason to spend the limited development resources for creating it. Which there isn't.
I was 99% joking but that wouldn't be too crazy. One if-sentence to run after every item that drops to check whether it's a dublicated item?
Your second post describes something completely different than your first post which I commented upon. The first one would be too crazy. You might want to rethink also the second idea. Checking duplication after an item had already been selected would be useless.
