I always love reading the little flavor texts in all card games and Card Hunter is not an exception. Since there are many cards in the game that currently lack any flavor text, I thought it might be fun to start a thread to write down our own ideas. And maybe we can provide some inspiration for the designers! Since many of the cards are already in the wiki, everyone still waiting can easily join in Here's some quick ones to get us started: Stab All the training I ever got was 'Stick that end in the enemy'. Bad Medicine I've got some good news and some bad news... Fireball Fire is like violence. If it's not working, you're not using enough. Bungled Bolt Any fool can cast these spells, it's so easOUCH! Hit The Deck Sometimes the ground can be your best friend. Dodge When the sword comes swinging at your neck - be somewhere else. Wild Run Ayyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Dropped Guard Behind you! A three-headed goblin!
ima let you finish but this is the best dropped guard flavor ever "Shields at the ready swords drawn and .... oh shiny!"
Love the idea of this thread. It's like a caption competition but for card names. I'm sure there are many more talented than I at coming up with these sorts of things, but I'll have a go anyway. Hopefully they're not too horrible... Stab - When in doubt, stick 'em with the pointy end. Bad Medicine - There ain't no cleric that can cure my disease. Sorry, but I can't help but start hearing Bon Jovi in my head whenever anyone mentions that card. I actually prefer Zalminen's suggestion. Fireball - "... but set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life." Hit the Deck - Neither the fall nor the ground killed you, in fact they saved your life. Dodge - Who needs armour with moves like these? Dropped Guard - I can't do any better than Wozarg. Something like "Chaaaaar- Oooh, shiny!" works for me. Volcano - "Earthquake? Ha! Earthquakes are for amateurs. This comes with molten lava." I haven't looked at the wiki much (although what I have seen looks fantastic) but if anyone would care to suggest more unadorned cards I'd happily take a shot at them.
This is a fun idea--I have, quite literally, wanted to be the person to write flavor text for games. I've done stuff similar for other projects, and it's really great having these little inspiring images and ideas to let your creativity go wild.
