Let me just stop right here and say... Holy cow! This game is amazing, I love it, and it feels like a game that I would buy if it released today. (and wasn't free to play ) Now that that's out of the way, lets get into some dirty details: 1. General: The game feels really polished, but there are a few (very minor) issues that I've had so far. Namely, when you try to move in place, it can be annoying to click since your character is hopping up and down. I propose that the click be purely grid based and simply ignore the figurine. The same applies to several similar situation including the pivot directly following this action. 2. Combat system: Slick, responsive, flows nicely, and generally captures the feel of DnD without being super heavy in terms of calculations. (a feat that not many have accomplished before with such elegance) 3. Deck building: This was really the jackpot winner for me. Never before have I seen a deck building method like this (perhaps because it is made feasible by it being a DTCG/DCCG) it makes deck building much more stream lined and accessible without losing any of the depth. It also really brings to life your character as the gear choices feel significant and show character development in a unique way. 4. Business model: For more DTCGs than I can count, this was the point at which a game failed for me. This game takes it to the next level by allowing full access to everything. It is still a TCG being able to pay for cards is not a huge problem for me so long as the general populace is able to obtain rewards reliably without paying for it. That is really where this game succeeds and other games failed. I actually invested a significant amount of cash into the game after seeing its potential, but specifically avoided spending any of it so I could get a feel for how the "free to play" life is in the game. Not only did I not have any trouble finding gear that fit the character I was trying to make, but I found gear that made me want to try things I had not even thought of. I even went into PVP for a while using only the basic stuff that you get for free and had a blast. I never felt like I was at a disadvantage for not having payed and that is extremely rare in card games. All in all, huge success here and I hope this stays the way it is. 5. Graphics: Nothing crazy special here but it does the job. The graphics are clearly stylized and I can certainly get behind that. It's really 6 in one half a dozen in the other here, so I'm not going to talk about it much. Overall I would say it is a success in this area, though. 6. Balance: I have only a days worth of experience in PvP, but so far no problems. I have also seen several posts about balance changes and such which is usually a good sign for a well balanced game. I'm going to exclude this from my opinion just because I don't have enough expereience to back it up though. (first impression is positive though) It would be impolite to give a rating, since the game is still in beta and all, but I'm sure you can tell that my overall reaction to the game is wildly positive. Keep up the good work devs!
