Hi there, first post for this really pleasant game, thank you guys at Blue Manchu for creating it. I'm currently doing the Cliffs of the wyverns and just came to the 4th part of the adventure, where you meet the adult wyvern. And I really can't understand why young wyvern have 30 HP, while adult has 25 HP. I know theses games are not always made for reflecting reality, but this thing about HP is very strange ! I would suggest rather 25 HP for young and 30 HP for adult, or even 35 if you want to keep the HP ratio for the map (there are 2 young and only 1 adult). This could make the adult many more dangerous.
I noticed this too and thought it was strange. Assuming it's intentional, it could be because the adult wyvern is more dangerous by virtue of being able to play more than one attack card per round. I was also surprised that it wasn't a 2x2 large creature more reminiscent of Greenfang and the Yellow Dragon, but who am I to tell anyone what a wyvern should look like?
It is an Adult creature and not an "old" creature. Nice jesting there but I like Assussanni's idea for this situation. Adjusting the HP a bit would seam reasonable here even if the "adult" wyvern can act twice. /rant
So if we're serious for a moment, the adult wyvern can act more then twice, it can play all of the cards in it's hand in the same round which makes it very powerful because it's cards are also very good (very strong sparks), which is why I assume they gave it lower hp. that thing surviving for another round or two would make the final stage much more difficult. I would guess we would see much more of the adult wyverns when the expansion comes out, just imagine 3 or 4 of those things with 30 or 35 hp each - preety nasty imo. that being said I do see the logic of perhaps nerfing the young ones to 25 and making the adults have 30 like golden suggested and regardless this mission is actually not that hard if you play 3 wiz with resistant hides. just wait patiently for one of them to draw his resistant hide and your set as long as you keep in mind to stay out of bite distance. it's one of the few high level adventures I completed all of the challenges in due to that tactic.
Ya talk about it. Back on topic. I have not made it that far yet but it seams that a good balance be to lower the little ones HP and simply ad one more. Will try to remember this thread for when I have played the said encounter.
I threw myself at that last encounter many times and was never successful. I'm going to try it again at some point with a firestorm build >_>
Bring Resilient Hides and Grounded Plates. Easy win. They do bite if you run into them but they seem to be using caster AI which means they prefer to run away.
