    Hi all,
This post is meant to give some personal feedback and suggestions based on my game experience until now.
First of all I am a casual gamer who like multiplayer strategic and tactics games, and card games too, if the two are combined even better, so I was very excited to get to know the existence of a game like Card Hunter.
I have not much time to play (in average no more than 1 hour/day), but on the other side I don’t mind to pay money if that can put me in the position of competing with player who have more time to play.
I think Card Hunter is a great game, the concept is simple and brilliant at the same time, love the graphics and the D&D atmosphere, plus the fact that can be played on browser is definitely a plus (best would be if I could play it on my iPad!).
Said that especially over the last month where I had more time to play, mainly due to Holidays, I became aware of some aspects that made my gaming experience not so great, and in some cases frustrating.
This is again my opinion, maybe these topics have been already discussed, simply I do not have enough time to read all the posts, and I wanted to have my own post to bring them up.

    1) “Luck factor”: while I like some variability and unpredictability, in my view “luck” plays a too big of a role in this game. Two main aspects:

    a. Randomness in getting items: random loot is definitely ok, what I personally do not like is that also the main in game store (Randimar) has complete random items. In the last 8-12 weeks I played regularly (campaign completed, majority of quest completed, manymultiplayer games), with Club Memberships for two months. Results I have 15 legendaries, maybe 100 or more epics, gold and treasure to spend in the stores, but haven’t been able to put my hand in the items I was interested in. Also I have several epic duplicates, in 5-6 cases triplicates that are completely useless which I would like to trade with other players. For me a trade system would be a great asset the game.

    b. “Dice rolling” I understand this plays a key role to recreate the D&D gaming atmosphere, and I would not mind that, except for the fact that the too often games are driven towards win or loss by one or two bad rolls (or 1 or two lucky rolls). I would like to see the dice roll mechanism limited to blocks and not armors (in this case some armors would need a review).

    2) Game balance: a game with perfect balance doesn’t exist, especially a new one like Card Hunter. Yet there are some aspects where the unbalance is pretty obvious and should have be fixed by now, even because they are not so

    a. Few cards dominating game-play: the following cards are clearly overpowered (proof is almost everybody uses as much as possible): Nimble Strike, Whirlwind Enemies, Winds of War, Impenetrable Nimbus, Toughness (I might miss one or two :p). These are all over the top, in particular compared to a large majority of cards which are “shoebox” that will never see gameplay (because too weak). There are lot of solutions that could be tested to town these 5-6 cards down, without overnerfing them. The fact these cards have been untouched for 5 months (w/o counting beta) is quite worrying.

    b. Races: I am a great fan of dwarves, but in this game they are one step above the other two races. In general I feel dwarven racials are all better (also as mentioned above, one of them is in the short list of overpowered cards) than the human and elves counterpart, which together with the high hp makes it the best race in the game. These two advantages would be probably balanced by having only 2 step movement card, but this limitation is fully compensated by a high number of cards granting longer movement (in primis Nimble Strike on melee dwarves). A possible solution would be changing the “step” and “push” mechanisms (maybe there are more that I don’t recall now) to grant a number of spaces according to the race.

    3) Lack of re-connect feature: for me this is a “must” in all turn based multiplayer games, like 30 seconds after which you disconnect you can reconnect to the current game. Not fun where flash crashes or your connection freezes and you lose a game (especially the last round of a quest!)

    4) Shorter time limit on turns (especially in multiplayer): I also did this at the beginning, taking a lot of time to play turns, because I was not familiar with the game, but when you are on the other side sometimes it becomes too much, and for a player like me which does not have too much to play this can become a disincentive to play. To help new players to familiarize with the game, you could leave the casual games with the current time limit, and turn them into a training grounds.

This is again my personal feedback, hoping this can contribute to improving the game.
But to end I would like to thank the devs for creating Card Hunter, which still remains my favorite game from 2013 ;)

    Thanks for reading,
    Groggolo
