I have been playing since launch and I feel like my items are woefully inefficient. I almost always have barely any gold and can never afford anything from Randimar's.

What do others do to gain a lot of gold/gear to sell? I prefer not to play mutliplayer, because i often have to leave my computer at random intervals...is that why my characters are broke as a joke?

I've a lvl 12 party i think and i am having trouble beating the level 12 quest with the zombies, like sheer hoplessness, I do on average with a fighter, cleric, and mage, 5-7 damage per card and the zombie brute is doing 14 like EVERY action. I dont understand what I am doing wrong.

My fighter is a "chopper", my wizard has quite a few Firestorms and decent long range shocks and I alternate the cleric between a drainer and a healer.

last week i had 8k. this week i got 6.6k

just full clear sp modules everyday, and do minimum 3 gold chests for multiplayer.

    for sp, do most of them with a solid firestorm/volcano setup :}

I have no idea how you have time for all that. I at most get to play 2-4 hours a week. If I simply play through each level a it appears in single player mode, should I have sufficient gear, or is a certaint amount of grinding required to have adequate equipment?

You should not have to grind too much just to do the SP modules. However, the modules do get harder, and you definitely will need to adjust your equipment slightly depending on the type of opponent you are fighting. For example, you may wish to use Chop against a large number of small enemies, but higher damage attacks against a few stronger enemies. Avoid using piercing against trees which have Solid Wood, avoid crushing vs. Oozes, etc.

Firestorm can be very strong on some maps but in other cases it's pretty useless. I don't think I even got a single Firestorm item all through the Single Player so I never tried using it, but my experience has been that you need to have a fairly specific set of equipment to really make the most of a Firestorm build.

I think level 8-12 single player for the first playthrough may just have a slightly higher learning curve. The difficulty ramps up significantly and there are some tougher enemies with annoying special abilities, and generally on the first playthrough the equipment strength has not increased quite as quickly as the difficulty has increased.

Some of it also is just learning all the intricacies of the various rules and their corresponding strategies, like the fact that you should attack enemies with lots of Block effects from behind. There are also specific strategies on particular modules (see the Hints) that make them much easier to defeat. I know that I struggled through a number of levels only to have an "aha!" moment when I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.

Some advice when you're struggling in single player:

    1. First of all, don't get too discouraged. We've all run into modules that we got stuck on the first time we played through them, so you are not alone in your plight. :)

    2. If you're stuck on a particular module, post here and ask for help/hints. There are folks here who have played through the modules way too many times (although some may have forgotten what it was like to do it the first time with sub-par equipment).

    3. The best way to get gold/items at your level is to replay earlier levels (1-6 in particular for tokenless items). The items you get will be within a few levels of the module level, so replaying a level 6 module will give items in the level 3 to level 9 range roughly. You only get regular chests for replaying levels (not gold), so you will get a lot of common and uncommon items, but in many cases these items will still be upgrades to your current equipment. If you don't like grinding, you can always replay the current level you're stuck on and you will undoubtedly learn better strategies about how to beat it each time you play, until you pass it.

    4. You can buy common and maybe some uncommon items in the stores if you have extra gold, but keep in mind that items are more expensive if their level is higher than your current Renown level (determined by the max level SP module you have completed), so you should stick to buying items at your level or below for best value. Still, there are a lot of great items that can be had for 5g (common) or 25g (rare) so it's worth doing a bit of shopping each day to check for better stuff.

    5. I would generally recommend against paying 15g to revive your party too many times, unless you really feel that you know what went wrong and have a good strategy to beat the level. If you're genuinely stuck, try changing up your equipment or playing some other level a few times. It can be really frustrating to fail a level more than once, especially when you paid 15g for the attempt.

    6. Speaking of paying 15g, if you are considering paying 15g for a revive, think about whether you'd be better off spending that money on a chest from the chest store. This gives comparable items and when you are first starting out it you may get some good value from buying a few chests. And it's a 100% certainty of getting the chest as opposed to the revive which may end up in another defeat.

    7. Don't cash in your pizza for gold. You only get around 150 pizza from the single player campaign and you never get any more after that unless you open your wallet. Once you are level 18 it will be easier to get gold by farming earlier levels or doing achievement medals (which are unlocked once you complete the SP campaign).

    8. If you see a really awesome item in Randimar's and are tempted to cash in pizza to buy it, do yourself a favor and post here in the Rate My Randimar's Rarities thread and ask if it's worth spending pizza to buy. Some items are actually worth spending pizza on, but many items you acquire at this level you will later end up replacing.

By the way, a few general tips for dealing with zombies:

    1. They are slow. Use this to your advantage by keeping your distance and picking them off from afar with ranged or spear attacks.

    2. The big zombies that "explode" when they die can be used to your advantage. Get a group of zombies together, explode a big guy (preferably when you are NOT within 2 spaces of him) and watch him splatter all the zombies around him. You can even set up chain reactions where one exploding zombie kills another exploding zombie, etc.

This is great for those who have found the items for a solid firestorm/volcano setup, but it can take a long time to get the cards.

The method that works best for me is based upon the strategy described in the link Lusus121 posted. Find a battle you can win in about 30 seconds or less if you draw reasonably well. (Bad draws can always extend the time.) Run the levels you can complete quickly, but don't finish the module or you won't be able to farm it again until the next day. Return to the map, 'abandon' the adventure, click on a distant location, then quickly click again on the one you want to return to.

The objective is to open as many chests as possible in the time you have available. It is repetitive, and some will find it unbearably boring. On the other hand, I've never played this sort of game before and my tactics (and gear) have improved to the point that I can now blow through levels I used to struggle with.

    General tips:
    - Firestorm works well when you are outnumbered by enemies with fewer HP who aren't armored/resistant. Not too good otherwise.
    - If your opponent has range 2 attacks, equip your own range 2 attacks. A 3 point attack that hits is better than an 8 point attack you can't use. Buffs help.

Levels 4, 5, and 6 have some good tokenless items, and 6 (or 5 and 6) yield a lot of the gem-type treasures.

    Happy Hunting!

Tomb of Tvericus, right? It's one of those that looks easy but you'll get destroyed if you have the wrong items and strategy.

Zombie Mob is just one damage, plus 3 (!) for every zombie within 2 squares. If you get surrounded, you're dead.

    * Parry will save your life. Get a Parrying Buckler
    * Armor is rather useless because it doesn't stop Brains! - unless you can bring Arrogant Armor
    * Zombies are slow and don't defend - drop all fancy attacks and bring as much raw damage as you can.
    * Block squares to prevent zombies from ganging up. Fire Wall, Hot Spot and Acid Spray are your friends

    Some more general advice:
    * Replay lvl 11 adventures to bump your level to 13 - +1 hp, +1 blue token will help
    * Don't hesitate to start a new party and replay the low levels. Try a different class mix to learn new strategies. Try 3 warrior or 3 Wizard.
    * Buy the 18 gold high level chest from Anjin. This will give you some more basic equipment
    * Try to win at least one MP game each day. The gold chest is worth it. The PVP community is quite friendly!

If it's Tomb of Tvericus you're stuck on, 5 gp Blister Stones or (Burning Bangles if you're short on tokens) can help a lot against less-mobile opponents. Not good against Festering Zombies if they have their armor.

Many times you will be surrounded by enemies. It is nice to equip your warrior and priest with slashing weapons which can chop two targets instead of one. They do less damage, so you want to buff the damage with warrior's Rage or Frenzy buffs from priest. Additionally you might want to equip your mage with armor removing spells. Boiling armor is very nice against zombies, skeletons, puddings, etc.
Simplest idea working most of the time is to put Nimbus on warrior and keep him slashing all enemies around him. He could be assisted by wizard's fire spells which hit many enemies at once. Preferrably buffed with Demonic Well.

I "got over the hump" when I ditched the 1/1/1 party and made a party of three dwarf wizards. I remember I got a lot of mileage out of Burning Bangle, before I got better replacements. If I got stuck I'd run lower level content that I knew I could handle, gradually accumulating better gear.
