Alrighty, I'm bored again (have to keep busy while waiting for beta invites) - so here goes. ze Evil Campaign Dicussion! Featuring some of the most iconic CH opponent races and has them cause all manners of mayhem and hilarity on the face of Cardhuntria. Could simply use the original map, with different (and even revisited) adventures. Prequel could work if it works with the general storyline, where as we have our brave adventures actually cause the raid on Ommlet et c. A totally free optional link of adventures if that's too much hassle. It would be quite enjoyable invading dwarven halls, raiding elven villages et c. Lizardmen seems good for a hardy race or possible the evil side's Human analogue , that also has some incling of civilisation and thus could figure out how to use gear (meaning, no Trogs!) and trying to avoid the classic orc meatshield trap. Kobolds or maybe Goblins for the fragile but quick race, filling the elven niche on the evil side. Possible to run a minion pack as a player could be interesting, then they could actually fill the meatshield role and lizardmen would be better considered for priest/shaman. Minions as pc would probably be more work to work out balance wise for BM, so that's a negative. So, what do you guys think would make a good third race choice? Picking from existing mob races would make most sense. Classes could be either be straight copied from Standard Campaign, or slight reworks for flavour (would require new skills et c). Wizard could become Warlock, Warrior could be Raider or Beserker, Priest could be Shaman in that case.
I think this is an excellent idea, and it could be done well either using a traditional party of evil characters, or a more strategy-like game where you can choose to field a certain number of different enemy groups, though presumably themed to the adventure. It would kind of be like being Gary, though not limited to just fighting adventuring parties of 3. It might be getting too complicated to code up, but you could have scenarios where you have to kill or capture a certain number of fleeing villagers within a certain number of turns, or defend a lair from a group of angry villagers taking matters into their own hands. So for example, you could have the actual raid on Ommlet (before that pesky warrior shows up), where you can field a few groups of different Kobolds: slingers, raiders, torch-carriers (minion types), a shaman, or a warrior (more-PC like, is there a term for them?). Then you'd have to collect loot from the town (encounter 1) and escape the villagers that try to attack you (encounter 2). This would lose the rpg-advancement for single characters, but you could collect items through the campaign that you could equip to the units you have for each scenario to customize them a bit. As for the Evil PCs version, I agree with your two race choices Pengw1n. Lizardmen for humans and kobolds for elves. As for the hardy race, some sort of sentient undead (ghouls?), or the dreaded Trogs would be good. Not sure if they're in game, but some kind of Troll might be a good option as well. There's a lot of fun to be had here I think!
