So I'm having a lot of trouble with the final mission of the "The Throne of Strench module. I'm running an all-dwarf party consisting of a lv.8 warrior, a lv.7 mage and a lv.7 priest. Their current equipment is as follows:

    Warrior:

Weapons: Woodhone's wound (1 blue power token), Heirloom Assegai and Unbalanced Doloire
Armor: Thin leater shirt, Wyvern Hide helmet and hidebound boots
    Shield: Cover shield.
    Novice Ferocity and Novice Gouging

I could probably swap out the Woodhome's wound for a chipped dagger to use the power token for Black Leather boots, but I'm not sure if the decreased damage would be worth it.

    Mage:

Staffs: Zapping staff and Opal battlestaff (1 blue power token) (I might swap out one of these for a a Lavender Staff, but all the downsides of the cards attatched to it are worrying)
Arcane items: White orb, Armorbane pendant and Blasting Rod
Robe: Firebrand Mantle (Resistant hide is AWESOME in this mission, but there's no gurarantee I'll draw it early or at all).
Rotting leather boots, Untrained Ferocity and Apprentice Sparking

    Priest:

Divine Weapons: St. trobor's maul and Clumsy Black mace
Armor: Glowing Hide Armor, Streaked shield and Hidebound boots.
Divine items: Crude healing charm: Beech root (1 blue power token, thinking about swapping that for a healing ring, also 1 blue power token) and broken charm.
    Novie medic.

So far I tried and failed six times to kill Strench and his bodyguards, mostly thanks to a combination of powerful long-range spells from Strench, the almost absurdly tough armor of the gougers and Strench's love of running away from you as soon as you get even remotely close to him. This party usually fairs fairly well against everything else, so please help.

Get resistant hide on your mage and tank Strench. It almost feels like cheating, because he cannot damage you after you get resistand hide in your hand.

Magic absorbing armors, blocks, quick reactions also help. From your last sentence I assume you don't adjust the items for your party for a given campaing map. Don't do that, see what are you fighting and prepare for it.

My mage already has resistant hide thanks to theFirebrand Mantle and my warrior has two cards that let him block magic attacks thanks to the Cover Shield. And I do adjust my party according to the expected dangers on the next map, it's just that I don't have a whole lot of options to further even the odds at the moment.

Then try unitil you get the right cards early! Focus on the bodyguards and finish them off as soon as you can. Step cards for the warrior helps.

I finally did it. I was lucky enough to draw resistant hide and did everything I could to keep my mage alive. At the end only my mage and Strench were still around and my mage just kept shrugging off those lightning blasts until he could get a hit in. It was amazing.
