I was thinking... (Yes, my brain hurts) When this game goes live, you guys are going to have huge problems when it comes to auto-lost games due to connection drops. It's one thing to take the auto-loss if you're playing for free but people who revive with pizza are going to be pissed because they're essentially paying money and to auto-lose on a bad connection is simply unfair. So unless you want to have to deal with infinite customer service issues where you keep re-issuing pizza and such, I'd change how the game saves your last known state. Also, I'm sure you guys would like to eventually make an Android/IOS version of this game, it would be a good idea to save the exact game state. Phone games are popular because you can play them 3 or 4 minutes at a time. Some levels take 30 minutes or more and to auto-lose because you went through a tunnel or some stupid thing like that is going to cause a lot of frustration.
Not that i don't agree with you slightly people with bad connection sure feel the sting of defeat more often. But why would they have to re issue pizza because people disconnect that doesn't make any sense what so ever?
I think this is a very good point. If you don't have some way of restoring either the game before it dropped connection or the pizza then the player has essentially paid real money to BM and got nothing in return. Irrespective of whether it's BM's fault or not it wouldn't surprise me if that player felt a massive amount of resentment and never played the game again as a result. If it happens to a number of players then there's a risk that it could lead to bad press for Card Hunter. I'm sure that they'll be monitoring the number of games lost to bad connection, number of people who pay pizza for retries, etc. but I think this is something that they should consider seriously if they haven't done so already.
I agree that losing pizza revives due to connectivity issues would be resentment inducing, however BM's stated that a more advanced save state is on their wish list. Would be very surprised to see it make release though. Also, currently the only way to lose pizza would be through reviving - so maybe remove that option until it's been switched, to avoid any issues.
