Sir Knight's thread about his gamebook project made me realise there's no thread about Choice of the Star Captain, which is a rather excellent interactive fiction thingy by Dorian Hart, our rather excellent designer.

You should play it. It is rather excellent.

Whelp i finished it and looked at the other games, i think i;ve heard of a couple of them, didnt there used to be a choice of the wizard or something ?

(hours later) damn you farbs >_>

(hours later) I hope this doesnt ruin my chances of Beta but i enjoyed Choice of the Dragon even more, i guess im a sucker for fantasy, i thought it was just a demo and the bought version was longer but it doesnt sound like it, aw.

Maybe this 'game/book' should be added to that list? Also will he be doing any writing ? Lloyd needs to be turned into a dwarf with the same disdain for elves.

I concur that it is rather excellent. In deference to a certain Captain naming convention which came to mind (looking at you, Farbs), I called myself "Captain Other." And Dorian is clearly a master at programming these things. How else could he have known I like chocolate and raspberries?

Yes, I know it was just pre-selected text.

If anyone felt like looking at the gamebook sample I posted and likewise providing feedback, it would also be appreciated. I'm going to take a look at that iTunes entry, now, to see how this stuff appears when not fed through a web browser.
