Can anyone tell me why Potent Spark is considered a Rare when Mighty Spark is considered an Uncommon? They both have the same exact card quality. they both have Hard to Block 2. They both have 6 range. The only difference between the two cards is that Mighty Spark (the uncommon one) does an extra point of damage. I'm baffled as to why the "universally superior" card is of a lower rarity.

Compare Hardy Mail and Mail. It's probably related to what part of the item curve it's introduced on. A better (but similar) card can be more common, but available later on in the progression et c.

  4. yeah i certainly find the rarity difficult to understand or agree to. i fail to see a connection between the cards rarity and the item's rarity as well.

so i tend to ignore that and just judge the items based on each card. having (minortoken) doesnt always mean it is better than no token and by that extension, i think (majortoken) items is not always better than (minortoken) items etc.

There has a been a ton of discussion and speculation on the forums about card quality, card rarity, item rarity, possibility formulas, etc. Personally I'm not bothered by such observed inconsistencies since I assume the ultimate goal of the devs is fun playability. I would guess that they would fudge their own system in pursuit of that.
