Card color issues?

I noticed today, that Block is bronze and Desperate Block is Silver. Silver cards ought to be better than bronze, but Desperate Block is strictly worse than Block. I suggest:
-Powering up Desperate Block by either adding a draw, or making it 3+ instead of 4+
    or
    -Changing the card colors

Anyone else have cards they think are the wrong color?

Side note: What's the deal with the "C", "U", "R" on cards? It seems redundant to have both that and also color.

Desperate Block ignores cards like Weak Strike or Weak Chop or Bludgeon or Stab that are often used first specifically to try and force out blocks before cards like Powerful Hack or Obliterating Bludgeon are used. This means it is far more likely to still be in your hand when those attacks that you desperately need to defend against are used. So, in that very specific way, Desperate Block is actually much better than Block.

To be honest, though, I'm not particularly impressed by it either. Succeeding on 3+ would be a welcome boost.

Common, Uncommon, and Rare are there ostensibly to differentiate power levels within a color. As you know, not all Bronze cards are created equal; some are far stronger than others. I believe the C/U/R distinction is there to limit how a card shows up in an item's card suite. A Common Bronze card is, to the item designer, of a much lower card value than a Rare Bronze card. Both cards are Bronze, but the Common can be thrown in with other powerful cards far more often while the Rare will often be balanced out by weaker cards or drawbacks.
