I don't know where the problem is, might be in the description of the cards in question. Example: Quick Reactions + Cave In (i don't know if it works the same with other types of AoE) Quick Reactions reads: "when a bla bla bla targeting YOU" Cave In reads: "target SQUARE bla bla bla" From the description you would think that Cave In would not have Quick Reactions proc.
